Forest boss says keeper apologised to rest of team

Steve Cotterill: Pleased with level of performance by Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cotterill admitted that a moment of madness from normally reliable goalkeeper Lee Camp cost his side dearly against Bristol City.

Forest suffered their first defeat in five Championship games and their 12th home defeat of the season.

Before the game they had the chance of going nine points clear of the relegation zone, but have now been dragged right back into trouble after Chris Wood's winning goal.

Wood, on loan from West Brom, kept his cool to score from the penalty spot early in the second half after Camp had a rush of blood and upended Jon Stead in the area.

But Cotterill felt his side dominated for long periods and took the positives out of the game, telling Sky Sports 2: "Camp has apologised to the rest of the lads, so there is not a lot more we can say or do about that but yeah, it was probably his fault.

"We were dominating the game and I didn't want to make any changes. And sometimes when you're dominating a game you end up disrupting the flow (by making substitutions). It was very difficult to make any changes today.

"I don't know how decent setback it is. I would have settled for that level of performance before the game because nine times out of ten that level of performance will get you a win, so the first goal was the most important and we made a mistake for it.

"The level of performance was fantastic by the lads. We've dominated and for their goalkeeper to be man of the match tells a tale really doesn't it."
