Eredivisie round-up

Tim Matavz: PSV Eindhoven substitute scored an injury-time winner at home to AZ Alkmaar

PSV Eindhoven secured a last-gasp success over title rivals AZ Alkmaar, but FC Twente conceded a late equaliser to put a dent in their hopes.

Feyenoord remain in contention to push leaders Ajax all the way, while Heerenveen produced a stunning comeback to beat NEC Nijmegen.

Substitute Tim Matavz scored an injury-time winner as PSV came from behind to beat second-placed AZ 3-2 at home to close to within four points of Ajax.

Jeremain Lens had given PSV a 17th minute lead, only for AZ to be in front at half-time following goals from Jozy Altidore and Roy Beerens.

Lens' second of the game drew PSV level on 77 minutes and the hosts snatched a decisive win late on through Matavz with three minutes of stoppage-time on the clock.

Feyenoord joined AZ on 58 points after a comfortable 3-0 home success over bottom club and Rotterdam rivals Excelsior.

On-loan striker John Guidetti was amongst the goals again after just six minutes before second-half efforts from Jordy Clasie and Jerson Cabral put the game beyond doubt.

FC Twente dropped down to fourth in the table after NAC Breda pinched a stoppage-time equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Alex Schalk had given NAC a 56th minute lead and, after Luuk de Jong's brace in the space of two minutes had appeared set to give Twente the points, Nourdin Boukhari popped up in the third minute of added time.

The Eredivisie's leading scorer Bas Dost fired a second-half hat-trick in the space of 14 minutes as Heerenveen came from 2-0 down at half-time to win 4-2 at NEC.

Genero Zeefuik's first-half brace for NEC looked likely to hammer a decisive nail in Heerenveen's title coffin, but reported Premier League target Dost had other ideas.

Dost pulled a goal back on 68 minutes, equalised three minutes later and then put his team in front on 80 minutes before Oussama Assaidi scored a late fourth to leave Heerenveen four points adrift of the summit.
