League Two preview

Another decisive day in store in battles for promotion and relegation

League Two preview

Brian Horton: Macclesfield Town manager will be hoping for a rare win at Port Vale

League Two leaders Swindon Town can edge a step nearer to promotion on Monday, while bottom two Macclesfield Town and Hereford United are on their travels.

Swindon were surprisingly held to a draw in their last home match, but have since won back-to-back away games and will expect three points when Northampton Town visit the County Ground.

Torquay United are five points adrift in second spot and face a tricky test away to Oxford United, who are battling to secure a play-off position.

Third-placed Shrewsbury Town are unbeaten in 19 home games this season and lowly Bradford City are the latest team trying to break that record.

Crawley Town are just two points outside the automatic promotion places and are away to a Barnet side just a place outside the relegation zone.

Hereford are currently propping up the table due to an inferior goal difference and Richard O'Kelly's side have lost four of their last five games ahead of the trip to Accrington Stanley.

Macclesfield have also failed to fire under a new manager and Brian Horton's men are away to Port Vale, who are in administration.

Plymouth Argyle have been steadily inching towards survival in recent weeks and will hope for three points against Aldershot Town at Home Park.

Dagenham & Redbridge have also been tip-toeing towards salvation and John Still's troops are away to a Gillingham side in need of the points to boost their play-off hopes.

Southend United's promotion push has been wobbling in recent weeks and Paul Sturrock's side will be aiming to recover from an abject Good Friday performance when AFC Wimbledon visit Roots Hall.

Cheltenham Town have also been faltering over the past month or so and head to a Rotherham United side still holding an outside chance of making the play-offs.

Crewe Alexandra are unbeaten in 11 games, but have drawn six of those matches ahead of entertaining Bristol Rovers.

Burton Albion have now done enough to secure their Football League status and play host to Morecambe at the Pirelli Stadium.
