Toffees boss also highlights Jelavic display

David Moyes: Thinks a draw was a fair result between Everton and Norwich at Carrow Road

Everton boss David Moyes was disappointed to see his side concede the lead twice against Norwich but was satisfied with a point at Carrow Road.

Nikica Jelavic continued his fine form since moving from Rangers in January with the opener after 22 minutes only for Norwich to hit back through Jonny Howson six minutes before the break.

Jelavic pounced again just after the hour to put the Toffees on course for the win but Grant Holt's 76th minute leveller secured a point for the hosts.

Moyes was frustrated to see his team fail to win despite twice taking the lead but conceded a draw was perhaps the fair result against an industrious Norwich outfit.

"We're disappointed we didn't hold on to win the game but it was always going to be tough going to Norwich, it has been tough for every team coming here this season," Moyes told Sky Sports.

Capitalise

"I thought the opening 20-30 minutes we played very well but didn't capitalise on good opportunities to make more goals.

"But as you would expect from Norwich they grew into the game.

"This was always going to be a tough game for us but it was a good point, we could have done better at times but overall I'm not too disappointed."

Jelavic's brace means it is six goals in just seven starts for the Croatian since his deadline day move from Ibrox, offering the Toffees a cutting edge they lacked during the first half of the season.

Moyes praised the impact the 26-year-old has made so far, but hopes there is more to come between now and the end of the season.

"His goals have given us a great lift, we have missed that goal scorer since the start of the season," added the Scot.

"But since coming in in January he has done really well. When he gets opportunities he can score.

"He has done well and long may it continue."
