The reigning champion beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to claim his second Queen's Club title last summer and will return to the tournament in preparation for Wimbledon and the Olympics.

Tsonga, four-time champion Andy Roddick and Juan Martin Del Potro have all signed up to play, with the tournament running between June 11 and 17.

Murray won his first professional matches at Queen's Club in 2005 and is now aiming to become the first Brit to win the title three times since FG Lowe in 1925.

"I'm excited to be going back to The Queen's Club," he said.

Great tournament

"It's a great tournament and the grass courts are as good as anywhere in the world so it's a perfect preparation for Wimbledon.

"There's always a great atmosphere and having won the trophy twice previously I have nothing but good memories.

"They also have one of the biggest trophies on the tennis circuit and most of the Wimbledon champions are on it so you know it's a big deal.

"I'd love to win it again this year."

After Wimbledon, there is a 19-day break before the All England Club stages the tennis event at the Olympic Games.

Murray began the season well, reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open, winning the Brisbane title and reaching finals in Dubai and Miami.
