NBA: Heat cruise into play-offsMiami win 16th straight home gameLeBron James: a season-high 41 points for Miami LeBron James scored a season-high 41 points to lead the Miami Heat to a play-off spot as they beat the Philadelphia 76ers. James scored 14 straight at one stage late on as the Heat won their 16th home game in a row and completed a season sweep of the 76ers. Mario Chalmers added 19 in the win. The Indiana Pacers came from 17 points down to beat the New York Knicks 112-104 as Danny Granger scored 14 of his 27 points in the final quarter. Carmelo Anthony saw a season-high 39 points go to waste for New York. The Phoenix Suns kept alive their play-off hopes with a 109-100 win over the Sacramento Kings that leaves them within one game of Houston in the battle for the final berth in the Western Conference. Marcin Gortat had 20 points and 18 rebounds while Steve Nash added 18 points and 12 assists in the win. Danny Green came back to haunt the Cleveland Cavaliers as he scored 19 points to help the San Antonio Spurs to a 125-90 win over his former team. Tony Parker also had 19 points as the Spurs won their eighth straight game. OJ Mayo had 19 points and Mike Conley 18 as the Memphis Grizzlies made it three wins in a row with a 98-94 victory over the Golden State Warriors. The Orlando Magic slumped to yet another defeat, going down 102-95 to the Detroit Pistons as their injury woes continued. Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson and Ryan Anderson remain sidelined for Orlando, who have lost four in a row. Andrea Bargnani had 30 points to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 92-87 win over the Charlotte Bobcats. The Los Angeles Lakers held on for a 91-87 win over the New Jersey Nets after watching a 17-point lead all but disappear down the stretch. |
