NBA: James hot for HeatKing James bags another big points haul as Miami roll onLeBron James: Scored 34 points The Miami Heat stretched their home winning streak to 17 games as LeBron James poured in 34 points and 10 assists to lead them to a 98-93 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dwyane Wade added 19 points for Miami, who overcame 30 points from the Thunder's Kevin Durant and 28 from Russell Westbrook. The San Antonio Spurs won a ninth straight game as they blew a 17-point lead, but then came back to edge out the Boston Celtics. Tim Duncan had 10 points and 16 rebounds, and then got in a crucial defensive play on Paul Pierce at the finish. Andrew Bynum poured in 36 points and Kobe Bryant added 31 as the Los Angeles Lakers topped city rivals the Clippers 113-108 to move three games ahead of them in the battle for third in the West. The Indiana Pacers moved up to third in the Eastern Conference with a third straight win, with 20 points from Danny Granger helping them down the Washington Wizards 109-96. The Milwaukee Bucks kept the pressure on New York as they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-98 to move to within a game of the Knicks in the race for the Eastern Conference's final play-off place. Monta Ellis had 30 points, 16 of them in the final five minutes, for the Bucks. Two late baskets from Steve Nash lifted the Phoenix Suns to a 107-105 win over the Utah Jazz, leapfrogging them in the Western Conference play-off race in the process. The win put Phoenix half a game ahead of Utah, and one behind Denver - who sit eighth after going down 94-92 to the New Orleans Hornets. Eric Gordon returned from three months on the sidelines to score 15 points for New Orleans. The Dallas Mavericks needed a 21-4 run in the fourth quarter to come from behind and beat the Memphis Grizzlies 95-85. Dirk Nowitzki scored 23 points in the win. David Lee had 31 points and eight rebounds to lead the Golden State Warriors back from a 20-point deficit to a 97-94 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Twenty-four points from Andrea Bargnani helped the Toronto Raptors to a third straight win as they beat the Philadelphia 76ers 99-78, while Josh Smith had 24 points in a 120-93 Atlanta Hawks victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. The Portland Trail Blazers let a lead slip in the fourth quarter, but then rallied in style to run out comfortable 101-88 winners over the New Jersey Nets behind 24 points from LaMarcus Aldridge. |
