The 49-year-old left his post at npower League Two rivals Crawley to become Andy Scott's successor at Don Valley and the appointment has been met with mixed reviews by the Millers support.

"There'll be some who welcome me and there'll be some who question my appointment given the quality of applicants," Evans told the club's official website.

"But if you want Championship football then get behind me. If we can emulate what we have done at Crawley then there will be 10,000 at the New York Stadium every week and that means we will be successful."
