21:32 Newbury then HQ for Kate |
Newbury then HQ for KateFrench ace set for English ClassicElusive Kate: Newmarket aim Elusive Kate, one of four potential Qipco 1000 Guineas candidates for John Gosden, is set to run in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury. Last year's Prix Marcel Boussac winner, who was eighth on her final outing in the Breeders' Cup, will head to Newbury later this month. Gosden also has his maiden winners Starscope and Gathering to consider for Guineas trials while The Fugue, supported for the Investec Oaks in recent weeks, remains in the shake-up. "Elusive Kate was the champion two-year-old filly in France and co-champion in Europe," said Gosden. "She's in good form and we're looking to the Fred Darling and the Guineas. "I think she's a miler." Gosden went on: "I've been pleased with both Starscope and Gathering and we'll look at the Nell Gwyn for them. "The Fugue did everything right in winning her maiden at the back-end and could go for either the Guineas or the Pretty Polly on the same day. After that she could go a mile and a half for the Oaks. "So there's four in there, but we'll see how they go in the trials." |
