21:46 Aces shuffle their pack |
Aces shuffle their packThree new faces for Belle VueBelle Vue Aces have announced three new signings after just one league match. The Aces' opening home match is on Good Friday against Wolverhampton. But they a wheel has turned in anger at Kirkmanshulme Lane, the Manchester giants have been forced into changes. Polish ace Adam Skornicki, fellow Pole Marcel Kajzer and Hugh Skidmore have all come into the Aces squad. Skornicki arrives on loan from Wolves on a short-term deal as a temporary replacement for the injured Patrick Hougaard. Kajzer comes in for Travis McGowan, who is still waiting for his work-permit to arrive. And Aussie Skidmore replaces Claus Vissing in a double-up role because if the increase in averages the two Poles have brought with them. New"We had to bring in new riders to give the team a more solid look than we would have had if we'd used the rider replacement system for Hougaard," said team boss Jim Lynch. "We moved for Skornicki because he is extremely experienced on British tracks. He was very keen to help out in the short term. "He recommended Marcel so we decided to give him a chance. It is always good to get a recommendation when you are looking for a new rider. His average fitted in with what we could accommodate and we may find a rider for the future at the same time. "One of the plusses of signing Marcel is that he has been given the use of the bikes belonging to Polish rider Piotr Swiderski, who is recovering from a broken leg. Swiderski is well known for having first class gear and the bikes are already over here. "We have made these changes until the end of the month by which time we hope to have Hougaard and McGowan with us." KylmakorpiMeanwhile, Eastbourne have opted not to sign a replacement for their number one Joonas Kylmakorpi - who like Hougaard, broke his collarbone in the first week of the new season. Team boss Trevor Geer said: "We did look at the possibility of bringing someone else in until Joonas is fit again. It would not be a really top rider and they would have to get used to the track and by the time they do, Joonas would be back. "Every Elite League club is in action on Good Friday so it is just not possible for us to get a guest. We will use the rider replacement rule to cover for Joonas's absence. The team will rise to the challenge, I'm sure. Every one of them is eligible to take a ride." |
