The Roughyeds must seek an alternative venue because their tiny Whitebank ground is not suitable for hosting a major game and moving the fifth-round tie to Saints' new stadium is an alternative.

Oldham chief executive Chris Hamilton said: "One of the RFL's conditions in allowing us to play at Whitebank was that we would have to move any home tie against Super League opposition in the Challenge Cup to another ground.

"That applies until we have improved the facilities. The possibility of playing at Langtree Park is one of the things we're discussing."

Oldham coach Tony Benson said: "It's a fabulous draw. The players will love taking on some of the sport's biggest names and our club should get a decent cheque out of it."
