Aintree going easesFresh ground can be used for final two days of meeting
Aintree: National ground changed and more rain to come for the rest of the week The going on the John Smith's Grand National course is now predominately soft, with more rain forecast for the remainder of the week. 11 millimetres had fallen by mid-afternoon on Monday and Clerk of the Course and Director of Racing Andrew Tulloch amended the description to soft, good to soft in places on the National track. The going has also changed on the Mildmay Course, with the Chase and Hurdle Tracks now good to soft, soft in places. The GoingStick readings at noon were Chase (6.4) and Hurdle (6.3). Tulloch said: "I am delighted with the condition of the courses and the going has now eased considerably following the rain we have had. "There was more rain until 4pm and showers, with some possibly being heavy, are forecast on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. "This means that ground could become softer. We have saved some fresh ground on the inner of both the Chase and Hurdle tracks of the Mildmay Course and will utilise this for Friday and Saturday."
