00:47 Blues eye Slovenian starlet |
Blues eye Slovenian starletYoungster attracting interest from Europe's eliteChelsea have been linked with a move for 16-year-old Maribor midfielder Petar Stojanovic. Stojanovic is seen as one of Slovenia's brightest young talents and is set to star for the Under-17 side at the European Championships, to be held in Slovenia, later this year. The youngster's performances have not gone unnoticed from some of Europe's biggest clubs with the likes of Bayern Munich, Genoa, Sampdoria and Chelsea all rumoured to be interested. Maribor director of football Zlatko Zahovic admitted that interest in Stojanovic was high, but is confident his immediate future still lies with Maribor. "It is true, many clubs are after him," Zlatko Zahovic told Ekipa. "But that doesn't surprise me as Petar is really a great talent. "Every club that has watched him so far agree with what we already knew - that he can achieve much. Permission"But it is too soon to talk about him leaving our club. We for sure won't do anything without permission of the boy's parents." When asked himself about any potential transfer, Stojanovic insisted he is just focusing on his current club. "My wish is of course to one day play abroad in one of the biggest leagues," he admitted. "But I'm in no hurry. "And when I will move, my goal will be to move to a club where I will have everything to become an even better player. "But for now I just want to do my job as good as I can for Maribor."
