Bulls hit their targetChief executive thanks everyone involved for their support
Bradford fans have rallied together to help save their club Bradford have announced that they have reached their initial target of £500,000 to avoid the immediate threat of administration. The club need a total of £1million to ensure its long-term survival and have revealed they are in talks over ways to raise the remaining £500,000. After reaching £480,000 by the end of last week, the Bulls extended their deadline to midnight on Monday in a bid to break through their target. The new total is £506,000. Bradford chief executive Ryan Duckett said: "Fans, supporters, sponsors, local business and the entire rugby league community have come together in a remarkable effort that has seen those supporters achieve this initial milestone for the club. "The club will now proceed to the next phase of our plan, in connection with which I can confirm a number of confidential discussions are underway. Pledges"We now need everyone to redeem their pledges as soon as possible so that the club can address its short-term issues while those discussions continue. "The directors, staff, coaching staff and players would like to sincerely thank all of those who have pledged and those who have contributed in a broader sense - working tirelessly, fund-raising and organising events to raise cash for the club. "We are truly grateful to every participant for every ounce of effort put in to save the club." With another £500,000 still needed, Bradford are hoping the serious nature of their plight will unearth potential new major investors.
