Bulls v Rhinos: TeamsAt Odsal, Friday April 6, kick-off 8pmA bumper crowd is expected at Odsal on Good Friday as Bradford play host to neighbours Leeds in the Stobart Super League. The visit of the Super League champions comes at the ideal time for the Bulls, who need to raise £500,000 by 5pm on Friday or face going into administration with a big tax bill looming. Bulls head coach Mick Potter has problems on the field to contend with after losing winger Jason Crookes to a shoulder injury while second rower John Bateman is suspended. Former Wakefield Wildcats half-back Ben Jeffries does return after recovering from a hamstring strain as second rower Tom Olbison is named in Potter's squad for the first time this season. The Rhinos come into the game on a two-game losing streak after following up their heavy defeat at St Helens by losing to in-form Huddersfield on home soil last Friday. Leeds boss Brian McDermott has named Danny McGuire in his 19-man squad after the stand-off missed the last two outings with a hamstring injury. Prop Ryan Bailey returns having completed a three-match ban, although prop Richard Moore misses out after rolling his ankle in their 22-12 loss to the Giants. New Zealand full-back Brent Webb could return to Leeds' starting line-up following a bout of illness, although half-back/hooker Rob Burrow is still sidelined with a shoulder problem. Former Rhino Matt Diskin believes Bradford's clash with their neighbours is Super League's best rivalry, commenting: "I believe this is the biggest derby in Super League. It's a real special occasion. "I've experienced both sides of it and you can feel the pride and passion from both sides. It's one of the first fixtures you look for on the calendar." Leeds beat the Bulls twice last season, including a 30-22 success at Odsal, although Bradford proved they are no pushovers with a 18-12 triumph at Headingley Carnegie. Bradford squad: Sammut, Diskin, Lulia, Whitehead, L'Estrange, Burgess, Jeffries, Addy, Hargreaves, Joseph, Kearney, Pryce, Platt, Langley, Purtell, Ainscough, Olbison, Elima, Manuokafoa. Leeds squad: Webb, Jones-Bishop, Watkins, Hardaker, Hall, McGuire, Leuluai, McShane, Peacock, Ablett, Sinfield, L. Smith, Delaney, Bailey, Kirke, Clarkson, Griffin, Hood, Ward. |
