22:47 Classic test for Botti pair |
Classic test for Botti pairDraw blow for promising DeityMarco Botti: Two big Kempton runners on Saturday both with Classic entries Marco Botti runs both Appealing and Solar Deity at Kempton on Saturday with the pair holding Guineas entries at this stage of the season. The former gets the ball rolling in the Betfred "When Both Teams Score' Fillies' Conditions Stakes and Botti said: "She did nothing wrong last year, finishing a close second on her debut before winning at Wolverhampton. "The race she won was only a weak maiden but she made all the running and did it well and we don't know how good she is yet. "She is the lowest rated filly in this field and obviously has quite a lot to find with the horses rated 90 and above, but we have entered here in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and in the German Guineas, so we want to know whether she is good enough for races like that." Solar Deity, who is in the 2000 Guineas, landed his only start at this course in November and goes in the concluding Betfred "Hat Trick Heaven" Handicap. "He is a horse we thought a lot of last year but for one reason or another it took us a bit of time to get him ready to run," said Botti. "He has done really well through the winter and I am very happy with the horse, but he is drawn quite wide, which isn't ideal. "Having said that, I think he is better than his rating and we are hoping that if he performs well on Saturday we can step him up in class." |
