The Belgium international joined the Blues last summer from Racing Genk, but he was loaned out immediately to Atleico Madrid for the season.

Courtois has performed admirably in La Liga and his performances have reportedly brought him to the attention of Real, who are said to be considering signing him to be the long-term successor to Iker Casillas.

However, Courtois insists that he knows nothing of the reported Real interest and is just concentrating on Atletico.

"These things appear in the press, but I don't know anything," he told AS.

"To me the most important thing is Atletico, I am on loan from Chelsea and belong to the English club, but I am with Atletico and am just enjoying myself."

Courtois has emerged as a fans' favourite and Atletico are known to be keen on extending the loan for an additional 12 months.

"I am very happy that the fans chant my name, and I have said I would be happy to stay at Atletico for another year, but I will have to wait," he said.

"I am not 100 per cent sure what is going to happen, but I would like it to happen and I think it will.

"Everything has been great for me here, I did not know what to expect as I have not competed in a league like this coming from Belgium.

"I really like Atletico and Spain."

Derby

Courtois will be hoping to lead Atletico to an upset on Wednesday when they host rivals Real in the Madrid derby, a game you can see live on Sky Sports 2HD.

And the young Belgian is hoping for a better experience than he endured during the reverse fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu when he was sent off for the first time in his career as Atletico lost 4-1.

"It was the worst part of the season for me," he said.

"I know the derby is a special game for this club and the fans, and I want to redeem myself by playing well and this is the perfect chance for us in-front of our own fans."
