21:47 Eagles ready to fly |
Eagles ready to flyEastbourne ready for new seasonEastbourne Eagles host the first live meeting of the new Elite League season on Monday, and they are in confident mood going into the new campaign. The Eagles finished runners-up in 2011 but they have managed to keep six of that side for this year. And British ace Lewis Bridger believes that they have a big advantage having bonded so well last season. "It is great we have managed to keep six of the seven riders from last season," he told Sky Sports NewsHD. "I don't think many teams get the chance to do that, we have bonded very well last season and this season just as well if not better." The only newcomer to the Eastbourne side is Russian ace Denis Gizatulin, but Bridger says he has already adapted well. "Denis doesn't speak the best Engish but he has bonded really well and I think he enjoys the less pressure than you get in Russia and Poland." Team captain Cameron Woodward also believes the side is capable of mounting another challenge this year. "We are not really favourites but we think we have a strong 1 to 7, we are built really strong," he said. |
