The Aces started brightly, but Eastbourne turned on the style and ran-out easy winners and indeed things could have been much worse if not for two tactical wins for Rory Schlein and Adam Shields.

Goth Joonas Kylmakorpi and Lewis Bridger suffered falls in their opening rides, but they both recovered well and helped themselves to five wins between them.

Tactical 6-point wins for both Shields and Schlein in race nine and eleven respectively applied the brakes to the Eastbourne onslaught, but that only briefly halted the home side's dominance.

Indeed every home rider won a race and only showed up how strong Eastbourne can be around their Arlington HQ.

The form of reserves Denis Gizatullin (6+2) and Timo Lahti (8+2) would also have been particularly pleased for the home side.

A victory for Bridger over Schlein in heat 13 preceded a further win for the young Eagle in the last to round off the 15-point success.

Co-Promoter Mike Bellerby was delighted with the night's work.

"This proved to be a night that ticked all the boxes for us, a great result against Belle Vue in front of our largest opening night crowd in many years," he said.

"I appreciate there has been the one match ridden, but nevertheless, this puts us top of the Elite League table and that is just where we intend to stay."
