Karacan blow for RoyalsMidfielder suffers broken ankle in win over Leeds
Jem Karacan: Out for the rest of the season after breaking his ankle against Leeds Reading midfielder Jem Karacan has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a broken ankle in Friday's win over Leeds. Karacan was forced off early on in the Good Friday victory over Leeds following a heavy challenge by Michael Brown. Scans have confirmed Karacan has broken his ankle and will he now miss the run-in as Reading look to win promotion to the Premier League. Reading boss Brian McDermott admitted he was 'devastated' for Karacan, feeling some of the tackles in the Leeds game were over-zealous. "I'm really upset for Jem, some of the tackles did not belong in the game," McDermott told the club's official website. "I'm devastated for him, he's a really good guy and now we obviously all want to do well for him. "He's played such a pivotal part for the team, now we are lucky to have other great people who can come in and will look to do well." |
