League One round-up

Chris Powell: Charlton manager leading his team to promotion from League One

Sheffield Wednesday came out on top in the early kick-off against their Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield, while Charlton stay top with a win over Oldham.

Sheffield United stayed second and on course for automatic promotion with a win over Bournemouth.

Rochdale remain in the bottom four after they were easily beaten by Yeovil, leaving Dale 11 points adrift of safety.

Two second-half goals were enough to secure victory for Sheffield Wednesday at Huddersfield. Miguel Llera opened the scoring and Nile Ranger added the second after 72 minutes.

Chris Powell's Charlton maintained their six-point cushion over second-placed Sheffield United by edging past Oldham 1-0 - the Latics' fourth consecutive defeat in a game which produced three red cards.

Chesterfield stay bottom after they were beaten 3-2 after a battling display against Walsall. Emmanuel Ledesma scored a brace and Sam Mantom notched the winner.

Brentford's winning streak at Griffin Park was extended to five as they eased past Bury 3-0. Sam Saunders bagged a brace and defender Shaleum Logan wrapped up the win with the game's final strike.

Play-offs

Bailey Wright's last-minute equaliser for Preston ensured they shared the spoils with MK Dons. The Dons had led for most of the game through Darren Potter's effort and still look set to finish in the play-offs.

Strikers Ched Evans and Richard Creswell were on target as Sheffield United maintained their two-point advantage over their city rivals in third-place. Zavon Hines pulled one back for Bournemouth.

Yeovil piled more misery on struggling Rochdale with a 3-1 win at Huish Park. Goals from Jonathan Franks, Richards Hines and substitute Michael Woods put them in control before Jonathan Grounds scored an unfortunate own goal.
