Lennon - Forster for EnglandCeltic boss backs No.1 to break into England squad
Fraser Forster: The keeper has impressed during his time at Parkhead Neil Lennon believes Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster is good enough to break into the England squad. The shot-stopper has been integral to the Hoops success this season, helping them achieve 20 clean sheets in just 33 Scottish Premier League games. Lennon is keen for the big Englishman to remain at Parkhead as he nears the end of his second loan spell before returning to Newcastle. But many observers believe that if the 24-year-old remains in Scotland, it might affect his chances of a possible call-up to the Three Lions squad. "The exposure he gets up here is fantastic and if he is good enough he will get picked and we all believe he is good enough," said Lennon. "He is only 24, so in terms of goalkeeping that is very, very young and he has got great potential and a great career ahead of him if he keeps doing the right things. "We are hoping to speak to his agent and Fraser himself in the next few weeks. "He knows we are very keen to get things tied up with him as he has had a fantastic two seasons here." DifficultForster was part of the title-winning celebrations at Kilmarnock last weekend and Lennon insists it will be difficult for him to leave now. "The feeling he may have got on Saturday...I think it would be very difficult for him to leave here now," he said. "He is making all the right noises at the minute so it is a case of getting things sorted out. "We have been gradually speaking about things over the piece. "We didn't want to put him under any pressure going for the championship but now that's behind us, we will get the weekend out of the way and hopefully get things moving in the next couple of weeks."
