Hall the hero with four tries in Rhinos romp

Ryan Hall: Four tries against London

Leeds Rhinos assistant coach James Lowes was glowing in his praise of Ryan Hall after his amazing four-try burst against London Broncos.

Hall's try blitz helped Leeds on their way to an emphatic 52-10 pounding of the Broncos, as they ran in ten tries in all during the one-sided contest.

The reigning Super League champions had been struggling of late and in fact it was Leeds' first win in four games.

Winger Ben Jones-Bishop and centre Zak Hardaker scored a brace of tries each, while Brent Webb and Carl Ablett also joined in the romp.

"Wingers need opportunities to score and Ryan hasn't had many in recent weeks," Lowes said. "When he gets chances he knows how to take them.

"It was very pleasing that all our 10 tries came from the backs and I thought we had some very strong performances out there. We had to defend strongly early on because they had a really good go at us early on and it gave us the platform to cut loose."

Burrow back

Rob Burrow returned from a two-match injury absence and took another blow to his troublesome shoulder, but Lowes said: "Hopefully it is not too serious."

London are still without a win on their travels this season, but coach Rob Powell seemed more concerned over injuries to winger Liam Colbon, who needed hospital treatment to a dislocated shoulder, and full back Michael Robertson, who pulled a hamstring.

"Hopefully they have popped Liam's shoulder back in but he could be out for some time," said Powell.

"Some of our young players got exposed in the first half to make it 18-0, but we got ourselves back into it with tries from Kieran Dixon and Luke Dorn at the start of the second half to give us a chance before it all went wrong.

"I thought we were a lot better than the scoreline would have you believe but we have to believe in ourselves a bit more and hang in there.

"We were competitive but Leeds came up with some individual brilliance against our inexperienced players and exposed our weaknesses.

"There are still plenty of matches left so I haven't ruled out our chance of reaching the play-offs."
