Simonsig: Will be favourite at Aintree on Saturday after this Cheltenham win Cheltenham Festival hero Simonsig is likely to go off a short-priced favourite in the John Smith's Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree on Saturday. Nicky Henderson's imposing grey was one of the most impressive winners of the Cheltenham Festival when he powered up the hill to win the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle. He is one of 24 entries in the Grade Two race, along with John Ferguson's Cotton Mill who was still in front at Cheltenham when he tried to duck out at the second last, unseating Denis O'Regan.
