New dates for Serie A gamesIt was a very serious situation, says Inter president
Massimo Moratti: Feels the right decisions have been made following the tragic death of Piermario Morosini The Serie A fixtures which were postponed following the death of Livorno player Piermario Morosini will now be played on April 24 and 25. All matches in Italy at the weekend were called off in memory of Morosini, who suffered a suspected heart attack during Saturday's Serie B match at Pescara. And the Lega Serie A confirmed on Monday that the 33rd round of fixtures will now take place on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, following the 34th round at the weekend. Juventus and AC Milan - locked in a battle for the Serie A title - will both kick off at 6pm local time on April 25. There had earlier been reports of clashes between clubs regarding the proposed dates. In particular, there were objections to plans to switch round 34 to midweek and play round 33 this weekend - effectively meaning two rounds of games would be affected rather than one. No controversyInter Milan president Massimo Moratti told the club's official website: "We have to do what is right. I don't think it is the case to create any controversy at this time." Inter had been due to play at Udinese - Morosini's parent club - on Saturday night. "I think it was obvious not to play the game," Moratti said. "It was the only choice that could be taken because it was a serious episode, which sent the right message. "It was normal and understandable. "For Udinese players, it was a case of losing a team-mate, a team player, who everybody knew well. "Hence, it was a very serious situation, a horrible episode and the football world understood it."
