Steve Sullivan and James Neal put the Penguins two up in the first period, but goals from Claude Giroux and Maxime Talbot ensured the scores were level 1:25 into the second. Wayne Simmonds, Jakub Voracek twice and Marc-Andre Bourdon scored in the third for Philadelphia, while Sullivan and Chris Kunitz replied for the Penguins.

Just one point separates the pair, who are likely to face off again in the post-season.

Shoot-out

Jiri Hudler scored Detroit's only goal in regulation, then added the winner in the shoot-out as the Red Wings beat the Florida Panthers 2-1. Tomas Fleischmann put Florida ahead in the first before Hudler levelled in the third.

The Ottawa Senators clinched their play-off spot as two goals from Kyle Turris saw them to a 5-1 win over the New York Islanders.

The Minnesota Wild beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 after a shoot-out and the Edmonton Oilers were 2-1 winners over the Anaheim Ducks.
