No firm plans for RockIrish star could drop back to two miles
Chima Rock: Has Punchestown options after encouraging run in the Gold Cup China Rock will run at the Punchestown Festival but trainer Mouse Morris has yet to decide on his target at the showpiece meeting. The nine-year-old has had one or two problems over the past couple of seasons, but looked set to be a major player in last month's Cheltenham Gold Cup running down the hill, until his stamina seemingly ran out. Morris reports his charge to be in superb form at home and is excited about running him at Punchestown, where he should get his favoured good ground. "He's on course for Punchestown and he's in great form at the moment," said Morris. "He travelled great in the Gold Cup, but just didn't get home over the three and quarter miles and that's it. "I've been really happy with him since, though, so we'll see which way we're going to go at Punchestown nearer the time. "We've got him in the Punchestown Gold Cup over three miles and a furlong, the Champion Chase over two miles and a handicap over two and a half miles. "We'll make a decision on which race nearer the time, but he should get his ground and we're looking forward to it."
