Pitt strengthens yardTop eventer adds another quality horse to his stringWilliam Fox-Pitt: Added another horse World number one eventer William Fox-Pitt has strengthened his already formidable yard wit the addition of Chilli Morning. Proven four-star performer Chilli Morning will arrive at British star Fox-Pitt's Dorset yard in the next couple of days. Produced by the experienced Nick Gauntlett, Chilli Morning initially went to Fox-Pitt's Great Britain team colleague Mary King. But King has now relinquished the ride following a difficult cross-country outing with him at last weekend's Belton Horse Trials in Lincolnshire. "I have been offered the ride on the stallion Chilli Morning and I am excited to see how I get on with him," Fox-Pitt said. "Mary King, who took over the ride from Nick Gauntlett at the beginning of this season, had been finding him quite big and strong, so after Belton she suggested to his owner Chris Stone that maybe I should see how I get along with him. "He is a lovely horse who has been very well produced by Nick." Fox-Pitt, 43, will spearhead Britain's Olympic challenge in London this summer, being part of a team that is also likely to include King, Piggy French and Nicola Wilson. His potential Olympic horse, meanwhile, looks set to be one of Oslo, Lionheart or Parklane Hawk. |
