Remy not swayed by SpursDeschamps' future not a factor, says forward
Loic Remy: Marseille man insists Tottenham are not in his thoughts France striker Loic Remy insists he has no thoughts of leaving Marseille, despite reports linking him with a summer move to Tottenham. Tottenham expressed an interest in the 25-year-old forward in January and are thought to be keen to move for the player again at the end of the season. But Remy, who was part of the Marseille side that won the French League Cup on Saturday, intends to stay at Stade Velodrome. "During the winter it was difficult because we didn't have enough players," said Remy, referring to Marseille's difficult season that has left them in mid-table in Ligue 1. "I know that Tottenham are still there, but it's really not in my thoughts, even if the club might want to balance the books by selling players who could bring money in. "Supporters think that it's always the player who asks to leave and then the directors decide. Not me - my head is here and I'll report back for training here. Too early"Then we'll see what happens afterwards. There are lots of things to be taken into consideration. It's too early to talk about leaving. "For me it would make sense to stay for next season. I'm still under contract for another three years." Despite cup success, Marseille's dismal league form means there will be no Champions League football at the club next season and there has been speculation regarding the future of coach Didier Deschamps. But Remy says his own future at Marseille is not intertwined with that of the manager. "We all have our own objectives," he added. "If the coach thinks he'd be better off elsewhere, good for him. I'll do my job and then we'll see."
