Rennie takes the positivesSouth African centre looking forward after European exit
Bryan Rennie: Taking the positives from Exeter's Amlin Challenge Cup exit to Stade Francais Exeter Chiefs centre Bryan Rennie is taking the positives from the club's Amlin Challenge Cup exit to Stade Francais. The south coast club bowed out of Europe last week courtesy of Paul Williams' last-gasp winner for the star-studded French side. Rennie believes there is no shame in the defeat in Paris, stating his team-mates will continue to strive to improve their play. The Devon club have come on leaps and bounds in recent seasons and the South African believes the frustration at the loss highlights their progress. Progress"Obviously we are frustrated to have lost, but that's rugby," he told the club's official website. "Sometimes you have to take results like this on the chin and just move on again. We have a few opportunities to win the game and in an ideal world we'd have loved to have to Paris and won. "In the end we've lost in the last minute of a really tough fixture, so we just have to move on. I'm sure we will learn lessons from this game and hopefully we can keep on progressing and do better. "We still have a few Premiership games to go and I think this will be good for us because we can take a lot of positives from the game. "We have definitely come a long way. The boys want to test themselves against the best players in the world and we did ourselves proud. "We were close and come the end it came down to just some small margins. As I said, that's rugby and we will look to take the good things out of this performance and move forward."
