11:46 Rodgers disappointed with loss |
Rodgers disappointed with lossBut Swansea boss maintains faith in playersSwansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has expressed his disappointment with his team's performance against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday. The Swans went down 3-0 to QPR at Loftus Road in the Premier League thanks to goals from Joey Barton, Jamie Mackie and Akos Buzsaky. The Welsh side had a poor second half in which they conceded two goals, leaving Rodgers dejected with their display. "We were poor tonight, to be honest," he admitted to Sky Sports. "We had control in the first half and started reasonably brightly and entered into good positions. "But we were toothless with our passing, which was too sloppy. We defended poorly and that was a poor time to concede (Barton's strike just before half-time)." RegroupingHowever, Rodgers is confident that his players will pick themselves up and return to form in their remaining matches in the league. "We have lost four games on the spin, and in three of those games we were fighting and working well," he said. "But we need to be much better than tonight; we were not anywhere near where we have been this season. "If I didn't know the players better, then I would be very worried. But they are a terrific bunch, who have been on a little a bit of a (poor) run like every team has. "We will sit down and work it out, and get back to what we have been for most of the season."
