Former Evertonian relishing Easter fixtures

Ruddy wary of Toffees threat

John Ruddy: Prepared for a tough run-in

Goalkeeper John Ruddy admits Norwich must be wary of the threat FA Cup semi-finalists Everton pose when they visit Carrow Road on Saturday.

David Moyes' side have lost just twice since mid-January and climbed above Merseyside rivals Liverpool, whom they face at Wembley on April 14th, following last weekend's victory at home to West Brom.

And Ruddy - who left Goodison Park nearly two years ago after making just one first-team appearance, has called on the Canaries to show some grit.

He wants City to put an end to their recent poor run which has seen them lose four of the last six league games in order to take them over the magic 40-point mark.

"Everton always finish really well, which is testament to the drive they have got from the management and the players themselves to really kick on and make something of the season," Ruddy told Canaries Player.

"They have spent £7million on (Nikica) Jelavic, which is being returned in goals, and they have brought in another couple of players which have added to their squad.

Ruffle their feathers

"Obviously they have got the FA Cup semi-final coming up in a couple of weeks, but they have two (league) games before that, which I am sure they will be focused on.

"They will want to go into the semis as high on confidence as they can be, so it is up to us to ruffle their feathers."

Norwich travel to Tottenham on Easter Monday, ahead of visits from Manchester City and Liverpool and Ruddy, 25, believes the hard graft will not stop until manager Paul Lambert is satisfied.

He said: "These Easter fixtures are going to be really tough, but it is what you work for, to play against these sorts of sides.

"We knew what was coming, that we would have a tough run-in, and we have put so much work in to give us the best chance possible of staying in this league."
