21:27 Star mares set to clash |
Star mares set to clashMullins charge favourite with sponsorsQuevega: Set to face another star mare and even money to beat her Quevega and Voler La Vedette remain on course for a mouthwatering clash in the Ladbrokes.com World Series Hurdle at Punchestown on April 26. The Willie Mullins-trained Quevega has won the three-mile contest for the past two seasons and heads to Punchestown on the back of a record fourth victory in the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham. Voler La Vedette goes to Punchestown after arguably her best ever performance when finishing a close second to Big Buck's in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Prestbury Park last month. The sponsors make Quevega the even-money favourite to come out on top, with Colm Murphy's Voler La Vedette a 3-1 shot. The Jessica Harrington-trained Oscars Well looks set to step up in trip for the three-mile contest, while other contenders include Quevega's stablemate Thousand Stars and Jonjo O'Neill's Get Me Out Of Here. |
