Williamson stays on targetGB team for London to be decided at final selection shoot
(l-r) Alison Williamson, Amy Oliver, Naomi Folkard at the Lord's test event British archer Alison Williamson's hopes of appearing at a sixth straight Olympic Games remain alive after she made it into the final selection shoot. Williamson, a bronze medallist in Athens in 2004, will go up alongside Charlotte Burgess, Naomi Folkard and Amy Oliver, with one of them set to miss the cut. In the men's event, Larry Godfrey, Michael Peart, Simon Terry and Alan Wills will battle it out for the three berths. "There's been some fantastic archery in both the so far completed selection shoots, and as ever you wish everyone could go through," said Archery GB performance director Sara Symington. "But sport doesn't work like that, and all I can say is sincere congratulations to the eight archers who've made it through to the third and final shoot, and sincere commiserations to those who have missed out." The Olympic team will be formally announced at a press conference at Lords on May 9.
