Chase charged by RFLCastleford half-back to facing ban after incident with Ropati
Rangi Chase: Faces a grade C charge after incident with Ropati Castleford star Rangi Chase is facing a suspension after being charged over the incident that left Featherstone winger Tangi Ropati with a broken jaw. Chase was put on report during Castleford's 23-16 Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth-round defeat at the Bigfellas Stadium on Saturday. And the half-back has now been ordered to face the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee on Tuesday on a grade C charge, which carries a suspension of two or three matches. Former Sheffield and Widnes three-quarter Ropati has had his jaw plated after breaking it in two places and is facing between 10 and 12 weeks on the sidelines. Catalan Dragons prop David Ferriol will also face a disciplinary hearing after being given a grade A charge of dropping his knees in the tackle during his side's 20-18 win against Hull KR. They were both referred by the RFL's match-review panel, which also ruled that Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield will face no further action after being placed on report for kicking out at Wakefield's Danny Kirmond during the Rhinos' win over the Wildcats last Friday. The panel issued cautions to Hull KR players Sam Latus and Graeme Horne for foul play in their defeat by the Dragons.
