Lambert - Look at our playersNorwich boss feels there is merit for international call-ups
John Ruddy: Norwich goalkeeper impressed again at Tottenham and has been tipped for an England call-up Paul Lambert believes Norwich City possess several players, including goalkeeper John Ruddy, who deserve consideration for international call-ups. Norwich have impressed upon their return to the Premier League and a surprise 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday lifted the club level on points with Liverpool. Ruddy has been a key figure between the posts for the Canaries, while striker Grant Holt is the second highest English scorer in the division this season. Both players have been mooted as contenders for a place in England's squad for Euro 2012, while Wes Hoolahan is pushing for inclusion in the Republic of Ireland's plans for the tournament. Former Everton keeper Ruddy produced a brilliant save to deny Benoit Assou-Ekotto at White Hart Lane and Lambert sees no reason why he should not earn international recognition. Clamour"Ruddy has been playing like that for two years. He's on top of his game," said Lambert. "People are going to clamour for him with England, but you could do a lot worse than look at him, the way he is playing and with the workrate he has got." The Norwich boss continued: "On merit and the way the team are playing, maybe people should look at them [for international call-ups]. "I don't want people to dismiss them as being at 'little old Norwich'. They have earned the right to make a name for themselves."
