League One previewChesterfield and Exeter could both be relegated
John Sheridan: Chesterfield manager could see his team relegated from League One on Monday The League One promotion picture could become a lot clearer on Bank Holiday Monday, while there are two crunch matches in the fight for survival. Third-placed Sheffield Wednesday kick-off the day's action by entertaining Oldham Athletic and could leapfrog Sheffield United into second place, albeit potentially for a little over 24 hours. However, if the Owls slip up at home then victory for Charlton Athletic at home to struggling Walsall would put the leaders on the brink of a return to the Championship. Huddersfield Town's automatic promotion hopes suffered a likely fatal blow at the weekend, but Simon Grayson will be looking for a response at Bournemouth. At the opposite end of the table and bottom club Chesterfield will be relegated if they lose to fellow strugglers Wycombe Wanderers at home. Meanwhile, depending upon results elsewhere, Exeter City could also be condemned to League Two if they lose at home to Leyton Orient, who are fighting to pull clear of the bottom four. Bury have a four-point cushion to the relegation zone and will be hoping to breathe a little easier with victory at home to Colchester United. MK Dons are stuttering in their quest to clinch a play-off place and face a tricky test at home to an in-form Tranmere Rovers side. Carlisle United sit in the final play-off position and will be aiming to rack up a 12th home win of the campaign when Scunthorpe United visit Brunton Park. Notts County are still battling to claim a spot in the top six, but have lost two of their last three at home ahead of welcoming Yeovil Town to Meadow Lane. Brentford are also in the mix for a play-off place and travel to a Hartlepool United side who have the joint worst home record in the division. And finally one of the more intriguing games of the day comes at Broadhall Way as Graham Westley takes his Preston North End side to former club Stevenage.
