01:03 Venue special for Murray |
Venue special for MurrayWorld number four is looking forward to a colourful WimbledonAndy Murray believes Wimbledon is a great venue for the Olympic tennis event this year, despite some people questioning the decision. The world number four, who made a first-round exit at the Beijing Games in 2008, is looking ahead to the dream double available to him this summer. He said: "I think it's going to be pretty special happening at Wimbledon- I've got a feeling, I think it should be great. A few people have questioned it a little bit but I think it should be great." CelebratedWith notable differences between the two events, Murray recognises that there is more to the Olympics than winning. "That's the thing about the Olympics, it's not just about gold medals- that is the ultimate goal, it's what you want to do. "If you lose in the final of the Olympics and get a silver medal then that's celebrated, that's great, it would be a good effort. The goal is to try and win a gold medal for the country." With the all-white rule also lifted for the Olympic tournament, the Scot is excited about seeing some colourful scenes at the traditional home of British tennis. He added: "It should be fun seeing everyone in their national colours because I've never seen anyone on a tennis court at Wimbledon with anything other than white so that will be cool." The Olympic tennis event will take place from 28 July - Sunday 5 August at Wimbledon.
